Weekly Report
Jordanian Interior Minister Mazen Al-Faria participated in a prayer mass in the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem, under the auspices of the eastern churches. The occasion was Christmas according to the calendar of the Orthodox Church, which falls later than the Catholic Church’s Christmas. Also taking part were senior church figures, headed by the Patriarch Theophilius III, as well as diplomats and PA officials.
PA security forces were filmed “in action” in recent days in neighborhoods adjacent to the security fence, such as Kafr Akeb (in northern Jerusalem), Al-Ram and Dahiyat al-Barid (just north of Neve Yaakov), and Dahiyat al-Salam. Some of these neighborhoods are within the municipal boundaries of Jerusalem. It should be noted that from time to time, such activities are carried out in coordination with Israeli security forces, for “enforcement” purposes. It is not always clear, however, exactly what the nature of this “enforcement” is.
